I'm a guy and was tired of being overcharged by Sports Clips for mediocre cuts, so I looked for somewhere else to go local. I found R.I.S.E.N - And so glad I did! First, they give a GREAT haircut at a very fair price ($15 for my short/tight cut) - With tip, it makes it an easy $20. I've gone there 5 or 6 times now, and always a great hair cut from Majel. Every time I've been there, the two people there are Jenny (owner) and Majel, both very sweet women. But here's the thing and this is why I'm reviewing. Last I was there I saw something so heart warming. This little "older" lady with short and thinning hair was there. Jenny was cutting it. To be honest, I am sure that the haircut for her is more about the ritual, conversation, and company that it is about the haircut - like I said, there wasn't a lot to work with up top (for lack of a more delicate way of saying that). BUT what was so special to watch was how much attention Jenny gave her, delicately cutting, curling, and shaping what she had to work with making that woman feel beautiful both inside and out. To see someone put that kind of care into a haircut was touching to say the least and is a clear example of what sets this place apart from so many others where you're rushed in and out. These women (Jenny and Majel) are beautiful, caring, and talented women who do a GREAT job of taking care of their clients. Plus... their salon is very cool with all kinds of cute local merch available for purchase. I got my wife a necklace and matching earrings that she loves! This is a great place that gives great cuts and heart warming care! I'll be going there for as long as they are in business!
